Remember when you were a kid, you always knew that going back home to mom’s cooking will cheer you up no matter how bad your day was at school? This is because it’s more than just about the taste, when your mother cooks. It’s the love and care she puts into her cooking, and the sheer freshness of the meal itself that comforts you. Here we go with our idli fry recipe.
To make this dish, you need to first heat a pan, and put 2 tbsp oil in the pan. If it is a
non-stick pan the dish will cook better as the sauce and idli won’t stick to the bottom.
When the oil gets hot, put all the bite-sized idli cubes in the oil and cook it.
You have to cook the idlis until they turn light brown. Once you reach this stage, keep
them aside.
Take another pan and heat it. Put the 1 tbsp oil that is left with you. Once the oil starts
to heat, add green chilly, ginger, and garlic to sauté them for a min.
The next step in this idli fry recipe is to add the onions and sauté them for 1 min.
Now add the chopped capsicums in the pan and sauté it for 1 min at medium flame.
Now you are at the end of this idli fry recipe, so add the tomato ketchup, soy sauce,
vinegar, salt, sugar, and red chilli sauce. Once you have added them, just give it a good
stir. Keep stirring for 1 minute at medium flame.
Now add the already sautéed idlis and toss it in the sauce you have made.
End the idli fry recipe by garnishing the dish with finely chopped onions. Serve hot and enjoy the dish!
